This particular Columbine is a very rare species, and the Colorado General Assembly passed a law making it illegal to dig or uproot the flower on public lands. The law also limits the gathering of buds, blossoms, and stems to 25 per day. So please enjoy the Columbine, but enjoy them with a camera.
